Free Class:

WRITING, MARKETING AND SELLING YOUR BOOK

COMING Soon!!!

Date/Time TBD

Smoky Hill Library (Room A)

5430 S. Biscay Circle (just off of Smoky Hill Road) in Aurora

Class taught by Pat Landaker, owner of Pochette Books and Things

(author of Blank Pages to Book and The Emergency Mom)

Writing:

You’ll learn story development, topic building and character/subject development as well as themes, scenes and dialogue. You’ll also learn about research, copyright and ISBN and Library of Congress numbers and how to apply for them.

PR and Marketing:

Learn the basics for creating marketing and PR plans for your book. Learn where and how to get free publicity for your book. Learn how to create promotion materials. Learn how to write your press releases and newspaper, magazine and blog articles and how to get them published. Learn how to create your own PR opportunities.

Selling:

You’ll learn how to take control of your book’s success and become your own sales and marketing team. Even if you have a book agent, distributor or PR agency working for you, you should empower yourself to act in partnership with them by knowing how to sell your book, where to sell it and when to sell it. It's not rocket science though-you can do it yourself.

PLEASE NOTE:
This class offers overview information for book authors. Bring your book manuscript or idea. Bring the following information with you, typed on one page (keep it as short as possible): Five reasons your book is a great idea; who’s the audience for your book; why people would buy your book; how you would market your book; how you would sell your book; and list five things you know about book publishing.
